Red is a Mitred Conure
|
(age unknown)
We named him Red because of his beautiful red head. When we found Red, he was living in a 20" x 20" x 13" wire mesh rabbit cage. The cage was sitting in the middle of a back yard in direct Florida sun in the middle of summer, 94 degrees and almost 100% humidity with no breeze or shade.
To make matters worse, his water bowl was bone dry and his food bowl only had empty seed shells in it.
He was a bit on the wild side, but it was obvious that at one point in time been been a pet bird and used to human interaction. After a good shower, a new cage and a few thank you nips (not bites) he started to settle down.
8 months later: Red was as sweet as can be and he was adopted by Gloria and John. All three made an instant connection and one more bird has a forever home.
